Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France has increased nearly fivefold in the past seven years, reaching $1.13bn.
The growing economic ties were highlighted at the Uzbek-French Business Forum, held in Tashkent with the participation of over 50 leading French companies, including AIRBUS, Experto Consulting, Iveco Group, MND, Roxalex, Suez, Société Générale, ALSTOM, Veolia Energy, EDF International Networks, Voltalia, and TotalEnergies.
The forum was attended by Khurram Teshabayev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, and Claude Imoven, Chairman of MEDEF International and Orano.
Discussions focused on Uzbekistan’s investment climate, legal protections for foreign investors, and the country’s industrial and investment potential. French companies have already established a strong presence in energy, mining, water supply, transportation, and tourism.
Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev highlighted that the number of French enterprises in Uzbekistan has quadrupled, with 50 companies operating in sectors such as construction, agriculture, and tourism.
To further strengthen cooperation, the forum included a business dialogue session, allowing government officials, industry leaders, and executives to explore new investment opportunities. B2B and B2G meetings were also held, facilitating direct discussions on trade and investment agreements while expanding professional networks.
