The economic chamber "Uzbekistan - France" commenced its operations in Tashkent, as announced by the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIIT) on April 24.
The inaugural ceremony of the chamber, held on April 24, delved into discussions surrounding the potential for enhanced involvement of French businesses across various sectors, including agriculture, mining, energy, tourism, and other key industries.
Joan Gola, President of the Economic Chamber, and Laziz Kudratov, Head of the MIIT, formalized their commitment to collaboration by signing a memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum delineates the frameworks for ongoing interaction, aligning with the core objectives of the organization.
Comprising over 50 French companies and entrepreneurs alongside their Uzbek counterparts, the Economic Chamber aims to serve as a nexus for fostering partnerships and advancing economic cooperation. The establishment of the chamber was conceived during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Uzbekistan in the autumn of 2023.
A primary focus of the chamber is to provide advisory services to governmental entities in both countries, aimed at enhancing the business environment. Additionally, the organization is tasked with advocating for the interests of French and Uzbek enterprises affiliated with it.
