In January, Beeline Uzbekistan, part of the VEON Group, upgraded more than 150 previously launched base stations (BS) in the capital, ten regions, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The updated equipment supports high-speed 4G/LTE data transmission technology. As a result of these thorough efforts, the digital operator's service quality has significantly improved in settlements and along key highways of Uzbekistan.

Technical upgrades were carried out in in the Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Tashkent, Fergana, and Khorezm regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The record holder for the number of upgraded base stations was the Fergana region, one of the most densely populated in the country. In January, the operator modernized about 90 BS there. In 2025, more than 220 stations are planned to be upgraded across the country.
The applied technologies — such as Massive MIMO — significantly increase the number of simultaneously served users, which is especially relevant in densely populated urban areas and near venues with large gatherings of people, such as major shopping malls or stadiums.
Thanks to more efficient frequency use, mobile device owners can enjoy higher download and upload speeds. On the base stations where the modernization took place, access speed increased by 36%, and customer traffic by 19%.

The focus on developing the 4G/LTE network standard allows Beeline Uzbekistan customers not only to use mobile internet at comfortable speeds but also to make voice calls while remaining on the fourth-generation network. As a result, the Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service is becoming increasingly popular in the country — the operator's network has already recorded more than a million VoLTE users.
"For our technical services, January turned out to be a busy period: in just one month, we modernized more than half of the base stations planned for the entire year. And there’s a simple reason for that. The sooner the equipment starts operating at 4G speeds, the sooner the people of Uzbekistan will be able to experience a new quality of communication and live according to VEON's AI1440 strategy, gaining access to modern digital services all 1,440 minutes a day. This is especially important for small settlements where high-speed internet is being introduced for the first time," commented Andrey Pyatakhin, CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan.
