President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recently visited the newly opened Grand Pharm Logistics Hub in the Zangiota district of the Tashkent region, an addition to the Tashkent Pharma Park innovation cluster.
Located on a ten-hectare site, the logistics center is part of a $40mn project. It features a three-story administrative building, warehouses, a hotel, a restaurant, and a dormitory, creating over 300 new jobs. With a storage area spanning 50,000 square meters, the facility is equipped to handle large volumes of pharmaceutical products in line with international standards, with fully digitalized operations.
The center supports pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Tashkent Pharma Park by offering storage and export services, integrated with the international “SAP” system. It is certified with “GDP” and “GSP” for ensuring the quality of medicines, along with licenses for customs warehousing and international cargo transport.
State-of-the-art air cooling systems maintain temperature stability throughout the logistics process, even during cargo loading. The hub also boasts a fleet of over 20 trucks and a parking lot with technical services.
Logistics connections with countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Poland, France, Hungary, Romania, and Turkey are already established, with plans for further expansion.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev urged officials to continue improving storage and processing efficiency, reduce costs, and make medicines more affordable.
The logistics hub also plays a crucial role in meeting the demands of the pharmaceutical market. It supplies over 7,500 pharmacies across the country and has launched an online pharmacy service, expanding its network of partners.
In addition, the “GPH Academy” project, in partnership with several higher education institutions, offers practical training for aspiring pharmacists. 3,000 pharmacists have completed advanced courses, and around 30 students have received scholarships and grants through the initiative.
