The Chinese company Zhongtong Bus Holdings will supply 183 modern buses to the cities of Almalyk and Termez in Uzbekistan, the country's Ministry of Transport announced.

On February 19, First Deputy Head of the Department Mamanbiy Omarov held online negotiations with Zhongtong Bus representatives. Officials from the Industrial Bank of China (CIB) and the insurance company Sinosure also participated in the discussions, focusing on financing options for upgrading Uzbekistan’s public transport fleet.
As part of the agreement, Olmaliq Trans Service will receive 83 buses, while Tashkent Transportation Authority (Termiztransportkhizmat) is set to acquire 100 vehicles. Additionally, talks were held on streamlining lending and leasing options to facilitate the supply of buses to other regions.
This development follows a recent announcement by Toshshahartransxizmat (Tashbus), which awarded a tender for 200 electric buses and charging stations in Tashkent. Three Chinese companies participated in the bid, with Yutong Bus emerging as the winner.
Uzbekistan continues to modernize its public transport network, with Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov recently discussing plans with Yutong Vice President for International Marketing Xu Peng to bring an additional 1,000 buses to Tashkent.
