Uzbekistan is set to launch regular bus services on several new routes linking the country with its neighboring countries, the Russian Federation, and China announced The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
Bus Routes to Kazakhstan:
- Bukhara – Turkestan
- Urgench – Aktau
- Fergana – Almaty (via Tajikistan)
Bus Routes to Tajikistan:
- Samarkand – Dushanbe
- Bukhara – Dushanbe
Bus Routes to Kyrgyzstan:
- Andijan – Osh
- Andijan – Jalal-Abad
- Andijan – Arstanbap
- Kasansay – Jalal-Abad
- Bukhara – Bishkek
Bus Routes to Russia:
- Surkhandarya – Bukhara – Urgench – Nukus – Moscow
- Urgench – Nukus – Ufa
- Nukus – Krasnodar
- Tashkent – Ufa
- Tashkent – Krasnodar
Bus Route to China:
- Nukus – Urgench – Bukhara – Urumqi
The Ministry is inviting transportation companies interested in operating these international routes to contact them for cooperation terms. It also encourages foreign partners to participate in organizing joint transportation services on these routes.
Carriers with proposals to establish additional international bus routes are invited to submit their initiatives to the Ministry, provided they agree to cooperation terms with foreign companies on a fair, reciprocal basis.
Zero VAT on International Freight Services
Uzbekistan is also set to implement a zero value-added tax (VAT) rate for various services related to international freight transport. This move will apply to transportation and forwarding services, as well as associated operations as stipulated in relevant agreements. These include cargo receiving and transfer, storage and handling, cargo insurance, customs clearance for goods and vehicles, cargo tracking services for delayed deliveries, warehousing, and the provision of wagons and containers for use.
