President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held meetings with top Kuwaiti leaders during his official visit to Kuwait, to bolster bilateral relations.

The president met with Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Kuwait, along with a high-level delegation. This included Kuwaiti Minister of Finance and Investment Noura Sulaiman Al-Fassam, Minister of Trade and Industry Khalifa Abdullah Al-Askar, and Director of the Investment Agency Sheikh Saoud Al-Sabah.
The discussions focused on advancing agreements reached during high-level negotiations, particularly in trade, economic, and investment sectors.
It was highlighted that the recent meeting between the two heads of state marked a new chapter in the Uzbek-Kuwaiti relationship, elevating it to a comprehensive partnership. Both sides emphasized the importance of preparing for the upcoming visit of the Emir of Kuwait to Uzbekistan for the Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council summit.

Key areas of collaboration were identified, including the establishment of a Joint Investment Platform, the formation of a Business Council, and the promotion of joint projects in agriculture, logistics, hydropower, infrastructure, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. Both sides agreed on fostering active dialogue and facilitating mutual visits to further these initiatives.
In another meeting, President Mirziyoyev and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya reviewed the progress of political dialogue and ongoing economic cooperation. They expressed satisfaction over the decision to develop comprehensive partnerships and discussed the organization of consultations between their foreign ministries in preparation for the Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Samarkand.

In addition, a new cooperation program with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development was signed during the visit, focusing on projects in food security, infrastructure, tourism, and industrial cooperation. Special attention was also given to the introduction of direct air links between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
As part of the business segment of the visit, President Mirziyoyev met with key leaders of major Kuwaiti companies, including Fadi Haddad, head of Fouad Alghanim & Sons, a diversified holding company. Discussions centered on the company's plans to build healthcare and educational facilities in Uzbekistan under public-private partnerships.
Another significant engagement involved Henadi Al-Saleh, Chairperson of Agility Logistics, a global logistics company. The two leaders discussed the establishment of a joint logistics center in Uzbekistan to enhance the delivery of agricultural products to Gulf countries.

President Mirziyoyev also met with Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah of Action Group Holdings, a company with interests in real estate, oil, IT, and construction. Plans for hydroelectric power plants and social housing projects in Uzbekistan were discussed and supported.
Furthermore, Abdulla Alsharikh of Kamco Invest was met by the Uzbek President to discuss the creation of a Joint Investment Platform and efforts to improve the efficiency of corporate activities within Uzbekistan.
Other meetings included discussions with Fouzi Khalid bin Essa, Executive Director of Al Imtiaz Investment Group, to support projects in food and pharmaceutical production and real estate development.

Finally, President Mirziyoyev met with Fawaz Al-Ahmad, CEO of Kuwait Investment Company, to explore joint ventures in education, infrastructure, and agro-industry, particularly in introducing artificial intelligence technologies to Uzbekistan.
Dr. Eyad Al-Saleh, head of Gulf Care General Trading, also met with President Mirziyoyev. Their conversation revolved around advancing healthcare cooperation, particularly in early disease detection and medical service provision across Uzbekistan.
These meetings highlight the growing and multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Kuwait, focusing on economic, trade, and cultural cooperation that is expected to yield long-term benefits for both countries.
