Visiting Uzbekistan has become more accessible than ever, with the country now actively welcoming international travelers. As a central hub of the historic Silk Road, Uzbekistan offers a fascinating blend of old-world charm and modern amenities, along with many opportunities for eco and agrotourism. Obtaining a visa for Uzbekistan is also a straightforward process, as the Daryo correspondent has gathered some helpful information on the matter.
To enter or transit through Uzbekistan, non-citizens and stateless individuals must obtain entry visas in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan. However, citizens of certain countries can enter without a visa based on international treaties and presidential decrees. Visas for foreign citizens and stateless individuals can be obtained at Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, provided they have the necessary visa support from the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
To obtain visa support for foreign visitors, legal entities and individuals in Uzbekistan must submit an invitation application to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Legal entities must provide various documents, including a visa application on their organization's letterhead and an electronic questionnaire from visa.mfa.uz, copies of passports for the invited person, the organization's head, and the authorized person submitting the documents. Furthermore, copies of the organization's license or certificate, appointment orders for the head and authorized person, and a power of attorney for the authorized person are necessary. If the visa is issued upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport, copies of air tickets or reservations are required. The invited person must also provide a work permit certificate from the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations.
For an investment visa, the applicant's legal entity must provide additional documents confirming their ownership of shares in business entities or their involvement in creating enterprises with foreign investments in Uzbekistan. These documents can be obtained from either the State Enterprise "Central Securities Depository" or the Public Services Agency under the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan or its territorial branches.
To invite foreigners to Uzbekistan, individuals must provide a set of necessary documents, including a standard visa application and an electronic questionnaire from visa.mfa.uz, copies of the passports of both the inviting and invited individuals, an original notice of invitation issued by the internal affairs agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and copies of any documents verifying family ties, if applicable. Additionally, copies of air tickets or reservations must be provided in case of visa issuance upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov. It is essential to ensure that all required documents are provided in full compliance with Uzbekistan's immigration laws and regulations.
Applications submitted by legal entities and individuals to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan are processed within four working days, following the established procedures.
To obtain a visa for travel to Uzbekistan, non-citizens and individuals without a nationality must submit certain documents to the appropriate embassy or consulate outside of Uzbekistan. These documents include a passport or valid stateless individual identification document with a minimum validity of six months beyond the duration of the visa, as well as two fully completed visa application forms and two color photographs measuring 35x45mm.
Foreign citizens and stateless persons who require a transit visa must possess a visa for their destination country and travel documents indicating their departure date from Uzbekistan. The visa processing time for this type of visa is 3 days. Suppose they are arriving from a country without a Uzbekistan diplomatic mission or consular office. In that case, they can obtain visas on arrival at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Visa sector at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov. However, prior to this, the inviting legal entity or individual in Uzbekistan must apply in advance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and obtain the appropriate confirmation, which is then sent to the invited person. Upon arrival at the Tashkent international airport, named after Islam Karimov, the invited person presents this confirmation to receive a visa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Visa sector.
