President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed a delegation led by Abdulla Al-Yahya, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait on April 15, presidential press service informed.
The meeting, which took place amidst a gathering of foreign political leaders from Central Asian countries and Gulf Arab states, served as a platform to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation. At the forefront of discussions were matters concerning political dialogue, trade, economy, investments, and humanitarian initiatives.
A pivotal aspect of the dialogue was the conveyance of heartfelt greetings and well-wishes from Sheikh Mish'al al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait.
Central to the discussions was the imperative to bolster economic relations through trade expansion, financial investments, and joint ventures. Both parties expressed eagerness to facilitate reciprocal visits and implement programs aimed at fostering cultural exchanges and promoting tourism.
Furthermore, the meeting underscored the importance of attracting investments from leading companies, with a particular emphasis on sectors deemed priority for both countries. Collaboration with esteemed entities such as the Kuwait Arab Economic Development Fund and the Kuwait Investment Agency was highlighted as instrumental in realizing mutually beneficial projects.
In line with fostering deeper cooperation, plans were laid out for various bilateral mechanisms, including political consultations, the inaugural meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, and a forthcoming business forum. These platforms are envisaged to provide structured frameworks for dialogue, enabling the swift implementation of collaborative endeavors.
Additionally, discussions touched upon regional issues of significance, indicating a shared commitment to addressing common challenges and advancing collective interests.
