Uzbekistan Airways has served over 6mn passengers in 2024, a 20% increase compared to 2023.
Reflecting on the airline’s achievements, Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, remarked:
“At the beginning of 2024, we set ourselves ambitious goals. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the entire team, high responsibility, and competent management, the airline has achieved significant results for the first time in its entire history. I am especially pleased that this is happening in the environment of tough competition in our market.”
Expanding Horizons
In 2024, Uzbekistan Airways significantly widened its international reach by adding 11 new scheduled destinations to its network.
To meet increasing demand, the airline also strengthened its fleet. It leased two Airbus A320neo aircraft from the secondary market and acquired two Airbus A330-200 widebody planes via wet leasing from local operator Qanot Sharq.
The airline’s regional subsidiary, Silk Avia, also bolstered its operations with the addition of two 72-seat ATR 72-600 turboprops and one 19-seat L-410 aircraft, enhancing its ability to serve smaller markets.
