Spanish airline Iberojet has announced the launch of charter passenger flights connecting Madrid with Tashkent and Urgench in Uzbekistan as reported by Uzbekistan Airports. The first flight to Tashkent is set to depart on September 2, while flights to Urgench will commence on September 8. These new routes mark a significant expansion in travel options between Spain and Uzbekistan.
Iberojet, a Madrid based airline known for its specialization in charter passenger services, will operate these routes on a biweekly basis. The flights will be conducted using Airbus A330 aircraft which are renowned for their capacity and comfort on long-haul flights. This move aims to cater to enhance connectivity between the two countries.
The introduction of Iberojet’s charter flights follows a series of recent international expansions into Uzbekistan’s air travel market. Earlier Daryo reported that in May, Spanish airline World2Fly began offering tourist charter flights between Madrid and Tashkent and Urgench. Additionally, LOT Polish Airlines launched Warsaw-Tashkent-Warsaw flights on March 14, while Qatar Airways commenced direct flights between Doha and Tashkent on June 2.
