A group of 100 Palestinian refugees, including women and children, has arrived in Uzbekistan for medical treatment and rehabilitation, as announced by Uzbek Ambassador to Cairo, Mansurbek Kilichev.
The evacuation, conducted on December 26, was a result of collaborative efforts between the Ministries of Health of Uzbekistan and Palestine. The initiative follows a commitment made by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on November 11, where he expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to assist Palestinians affected by ongoing regional conflicts.
The refugees will be accommodated in specialized medical and rehabilitation facilities across Uzbekistan. The government has pledged to cover all their needs, including housing, meals, educational services, and other essential expenses, ensuring a safe and supportive environment during their stay.

The initiative stresses Uzbekistan's humanitarian commitment to aiding those affected by crises. The Palestinian citizens will remain in Uzbekistan until regional stability improves, allowing for their safe return home.
During Arab-Islamic summit in Saudi Arabia, President Mirziyoyev reiterated Uzbekistan’s support for establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders. This position aligns with the Global Alliance for the Two-State Solution, an initiative led by Saudi Arabia. He also called for expanding humanitarian aid to Palestine and Lebanon, advocating for greater involvement from international organizations, including United Nations agencies.
