On the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev met with the World Bank Executive Director from the Swiss Group of countries, Beatrice Maser.

During the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliev presented the plans of the Kyrgyz government, based on economic growth reaching 13% in the first quarter of 2025.
“This growth confirms the effectiveness of our economic policy and creates a solid foundation for the implementation of the National Development Program until 2030,” the Chairman said.
The discussions also focused on potential areas for collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank, particularly in energy, industrialization, regional trade and logistics, agriculture, tourism, and the transition to green energy. A focal point of the conversation was the construction of the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP-1), a project with regional significance.
"Kambarata HPP-1 is a key element of energy security not only for Kyrgyzstan, but for the entire Central Asian region. Its implementation will attract significant foreign investment and strengthen the economic stability of the region," said the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers, adding that a historic agreement on defining borders with Tajikistan was signed.

In response, Beatrice Maser expressed her enthusiasm for the potential of Kyrgyzstan and confirmed her upcoming visit to the country in June 2025 to explore further collaboration opportunities.
"Kyrgyzstan has unique potential, and as a person born in Switzerland, I see many similarities between our countries. I am confident that the World Bank can play an important role in supporting the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan," she concluded.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing confidence in the strengthening of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank. Kasymaliev thanked Maser for the productive dialogue and voiced optimism about successful collaboration on key development projects in Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier in 2025, Ministers of Energy from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan, alongside representatives of the World Bank, convened in Tashkent for a roundtable discussion on advancing the Kambarata-1 HPP project.
The Kambarata-1 HPP project, situated in Kyrgyzstan, is a key regional initiative aimed at boosting energy security and optimizing water resource management across Central Asia.
