A cooperation agreement has been signed between Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health and "UZINFOCOM" for the implementation of the "Support for Digital Healthcare Reforms" project, funded by the German Development Bank (KfW Bank). The project is set to transform the healthcare sector by integrating advanced digital technologies into the system and eliminating paperwork.
The initiative comes as part of the broader effort outlined in President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's May 1, 2023, decree on additional measures to digitize the healthcare system." This decision emphasizes the development of a comprehensive digital healthcare platform, alongside the creation of a database for treatment and prevention institutions at every level of the healthcare sector.
The key goal of the project is the establishment of a unified digital health platform that will connect all medical facilities in the country. This platform will also facilitate seamless electronic information exchange between healthcare institutions and state organizations, ensuring greater transparency, efficiency, and reduced bureaucratic delays.
At the heart of this transformative project is the creation of the digital health platform, the first phase of which is now underway. The system promises to streamline healthcare operations, save time and resources, and provide easier access to medical information for both professionals and patients.
The cooperation agreement was signed by the Minister of Health, Asilbek Khudayarov, and the CEO of "UZINFOCOM", Emil Gimranov, marking a critical step toward realizing Uzbekistan’s vision for a fully digitized healthcare system.
This collaboration with the German Development Bank (KfW) will be vital in ensuring that Uzbekistan’s healthcare system is modernized in line with global standards, paving the way for enhanced services and improved patient outcomes across the country.
