Due to the dedicated efforts of water management professionals, Uzbekistan's economic sectors receive a steady supply of 50-52bn cubic meters of water annually. To further strengthen accountability and performance, the Ministry of Water Resources hosted a seminar-training on February 8, focusing on enhancing executive discipline and reinforcing the responsibility of leaders and specialists.

The event gathered representatives from the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Accounts Chamber, the Ministry of Justice, as well as specialists from ministries and departments within the agro-industrial complex. Senior officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and its regional organizations also participated.
Held in an open-dialogue format, the seminar provided updates on the enforcement system, regulatory procedures, and best practices in document execution. Experts addressed participants’ questions, ensuring a clear understanding of the legal and procedural framework guiding their work.
The discussion underscored that the success of reforms aimed at improving living standards is directly linked to strict adherence to executive discipline. Water management professionals, who play a vital role in sustaining the nation’s economy, were reminded that efficiency depends on strong accountability and compliance with established directives.
Water management specialists are driving rapid reforms, including the concreting of irrigation networks, energy-efficient operation of pumping stations, digitalization, and the adoption of water-saving technologies. They are also expanding public-private partnerships and attracting investments to modernize the sector. As a result, approximately 8bn cubic meters of water are conserved each year through the effective implementation of these initiatives.
The seminar concluded with a reaffirmation that maintaining a strong work ethic, strict discipline, and high accountability is essential for achieving efficiency. Participants emphasized that ensuring the execution of instructions from the Head of State remains a top priority for all leaders and specialists in the sector.
