Bahodir Nizomovich Qurbonov has been appointed as the Chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan. This information has been confirmed by “Daryo” sources.

Previously, the head of the State Security Service was Abdusalom Azizov.
Bahodir Qurbonov has served as the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan since February 11, 2019.
He completed his mandatory military service from 1987 to 1989. In 1990, he enrolled at the Higher Investigation School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, and in 1992, at the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
From 2002 to 2005, he served as the head of the Jizzakh District Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). In 2005, he was appointed head of the G‘allaorol District DIA in the Jizzakh region. In 2008, he became the First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of Patrol and Checkpoint Services at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. Later that year, he was appointed head of the Namangan Regional DIA.
From December 24, 2013, to December 27, 2015, he served as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. In 2015, he was appointed head of the Tashkent City DIA. On January 14, 2017, he was awarded the rank of Major General.
From 2018 to 2019, he served as the Commander of the Troops of the Tashkent Military District. In January 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
