AQShning bir nechta janubiy shtatlarida havo harorati Selsiy bo‘yicha -20 darajagacha tushib ketdi. Texasda bu qator muammolarni yuzaga keltirgan, jumladan, ommaviy elektr uzilishlari va suv ta’minotidagi uzilishlar. Mamlakat janubida sovuq havo qurbonlari soni 20 kishidan oshib ketgan.

Shunga qaramay, eng qiyin vaziyatlarda ham shtat aholisi nafaqat o‘zlarini, balki hayvonlarni ham qutqarib qolishga urinmoqda. Texasliklar uylariga fermalardagi juft tuyoqli hayvonlar va qushlarni isinib olishlari uchun olib kirmoqda. Esquire Texas aholisi qanday qilib hayvonlarni sovuqdan himoya qilishga urinayotgani tasvirlangan suratlar bilan bo‘lishdi.

My sister and brother-in-law have a farm with 120 head of cattle. They've had to bring at least 4 new-born calves into the house (utility room) and cover them with heated blankets to keep them from dying. They bottle feeding them.
