The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council convened in Almaty on January 31, bringing together heads of government from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states. The Uzbek government delegation participated as an observer, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the EAEU.
According to the prime minister’s press service, Uzbekistan continues to actively engage in EAEU meetings, contributing initiatives to expand practical collaboration. The country is implementing the three-year plan for joint activities with the Eurasian Economic Commission, adopted in October 2024.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan called for supporting and implementing President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s proposals, which were introduced at the Supreme Eurasian Summit in December 2024.
Several important documents were adopted, including:
- Financial Support Mechanisms: Guidelines for economic entities of EAEU countries to access financial support for joint agro-industrial projects.
- Implementation of EAEU Decisions: A report on the status of previously adopted decisions from 2024.
- Macroeconomic Development: A decree addressing the economic situation in EAEU member states and measures to ensure sustainable growth.
- Nomination for EAEU Council: A decision on the nomination process for a member of the Eurasian Economic Union Council.
- Cross-Border Securities Agreement: A new agreement facilitating the placement and circulation of securities across EAEU member states.
On the other hand, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov, emphasized the importance of international dialogue within the EAEU, expressing confidence that the decisions made at the meeting would further enhance integration efforts.
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko highlighted the strong economic ties among EAEU countries, noting that the Union’s GDP is expected to grow by approximately 4% by the end of 2024.

- Joint Efforts for Economic Integration: Aligning EAEU policies with global economic trends, new technologies, and innovations.
- Agro-Industrial Development: Enhancing sustainability, seed production, livestock farming, and agricultural processing.
- Digital Transformation: Advancing the EAEU’s integrated information system to improve cooperation.
