In the first quarter of 2025, Uzbekistan’s car production saw a notable boost, with an overall increase of 6%, according to the National Statistics Committee. A total of 89,848 passenger cars were produced, surpassing the same period in 2024.

The Chevrolet Cobalt emerged as the most produced car, with production rising by 13.58% to 32,200 units, representing roughly one-third of the total output. Damas followed closely with 22,400 units, marking an increase of 17.97%. However, production figures for Chery and Tracker showed a decline, with Chery down by 33.24% to 1,996 units, and Tracker dropping 12.57% to 10,513 cars.
A standout performer was the Onix, which experienced a substantial 41.21% surge in production, reaching 11,770 units. Additionally, Kia rebounded from a winter slump, increasing production by nearly 25%, bringing the total to 6,150 units. Haval saw an eightfold increase, with production rising to 1,885 cars, while the BYD plant in Jizzakh produced 2,913 electric vehicles.
Sales in the first quarter reached 75,353 cars, with UzAuto Motors dominating the market, capturing 54.3% of total sales. Khorezm Auto followed with a 28.2% share, while ADM Jizzakh held 11.4%, and BYD Uzbekistan secured 5.4%. Other manufacturers made up less than 1% of the market share.
Chevrolet maintained its lead in sales, with over 62,260 cars sold, nearly half of which were Cobalt models. Kia sold 5,431 cars, and BYD's electric vehicles reached 4,045 units. Chery and Haval rounded out the top five brands with 1,782 and 1,410 units, respectively.
In January-February 2025, Uzbekistan's automotive industry produced 53,522 passenger cars, a slight increase from 53,329 units in the same period of 2024. The Chevrolet Cobalt saw the highest production volume, with 19,461 units produced, reflecting a 21.1% increase compared to the same period last year. Production of the Damas also grew, reaching 12,983 units, up from 11,752 in 2024. The Onix model experienced a 25.4% rise, with 6,718 units manufactured, compared to 5,357 in early 2024.
