Between January and August 2024, Uzbekistan’s automotive industry produced nearly 243,000 passenger cars. This figure represents a 4.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023, as reported by the State Statistics Agency.
The Cobalt continued to dominate production, with 102,000 units manufactured in the first 8M24. This production level marks a 50% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
The Damas followed as the second most produced vehicle, with nearly 60,000 units completed. Conversely, the production of the Gentra decreased significantly, falling from 53,000 to 13,000 vehicles.
In terms of other vehicle models, Uzbekistan assembled 1,400 Haval vehicles and six Lada cars during the same timeframe.The production of specialized vehicles experienced a notable increase, rising by 24% to reach a total of 17,000 units in the first eight months of 2024.
