Uzbekistan imported 4,415 passenger cars from abroad in the first two months of 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee. The total value of these imports reached $75.9mn.

China was the largest exporter of passenger cars to Uzbekistan, supplying 3,149 units. South Korea followed with 1,191 units, while Japan exported 32 vehicles. Germany, the United States, and Mexico each contributed smaller numbers, with 11, 8, and 8 units, respectively.
Despite these imports, passenger car sales declined by 14.5% in February 2025 compared to January, totaling 67,200 vehicles. The decline was mainly due to reduced activity in the foreign car segment, indicating shifting market dynamics.
Sales of new domestically produced cars remained stable at 21,700 units, while sales of new foreign cars dropped by more than half. This suggests either a change in consumer preferences or potential supply chain disruptions affecting foreign vehicle availability.
According to the Customs Committee, Uzbekistan's car imports saw a sharp decline in January, dropping nearly sixfold compared to the previous year, while hybrid car imports plummeted 31 times. In total, the country imported 1,796 passenger cars worth $31mn, marking a more than sevenfold decrease. Electric vehicle imports also fell, declining 2.5 times.
In February, Uzbekistan imported 2,570 passenger cars with a total value of nearly $45mn. Compared to the same period in 2024, import volumes in value terms shrank 3.53 times, while the number of units imported dropped 2.82 times.
