Trade between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has surged by 70% since the beginning of the year, a key highlight of discussions between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Sadyr Japarov during their meeting on the sidelines of the trilateral meeting in Khujand.

The leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress of their economic partnership, emphasizing the successful expansion of industrial cooperation across various sectors, supported by the Joint Investment Fund.
They also stressed the importance of accelerating major regional projects, particularly the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which aims to enhance connectivity and trade across the region.
In addition to economic ties, the presidents acknowledged the significance of cultural and humanitarian exchanges, reinforcing the strong bond between their nations.
They welcomed the signing of an agreement on the confluence of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, a key outcome of the summit.
Mirziyoyev and Japarov also reviewed the agenda for upcoming high-level engagements, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and regional stability.
