The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has been assigned additional tasks and functions under a new presidential decree, the Ministry of Justice reported.
A new decree introduces structural changes to strengthen financial support and modernize the organizational system for household landowners and peasant farms in Uzbekistan.

Under the decree, the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Landowners of Uzbekistan has been renamed the Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction will take on additional responsibilities related to the development of dehkan farms and household plots, including:
- Conducting a full inventory of land in household plots and peasant farms, maintaining records of agricultural production, and creating a detailed database on the "Online Mahalla" platform.
- Organizing the cultivation of high-value crops on household plots using innovative and sustainable farming practices to boost employment and income.
To further these initiatives, a council has been established to enhance the operations of household landowners and dehkan farms, along with two new funds—the Farm Support Fund and the Fund for Supporting the Activities of Dehkan Farms and Household Landowners—under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction.
Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Uzbekistan's economy, contributing 25% to the country’s GDP and employing millions of people. The government has been implementing reforms in recent years to improve productivity and sustainability in this sector.
Earlier, authorities announced the cancellation of water supply service payments for agricultural producers, further supporting farmers and agribusinesses in Uzbekistan.
