Uzbekistan’s largest cargo airline, My Freighter, has announced plans to obtain Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) from Hungary and Saudi Arabia as part of its strategy to globalize its route network. The airline’s founder and CEO, Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, made the announcement at the Air Cargo Summit 2024 in Tashkent on November 27.
The Hungarian AOC will enable My Freighter to extend its operations to North and South America, as well as expand its presence across Europe.
Meanwhile, the airline is setting up a subsidiary cargo operation in Saudi Arabia, in partnership with a leading local carrier, to cover routes in Africa and the Middle East.
Despite these international expansions, the parent airline will continue to operate primarily out of Uzbekistan, focusing on Central Asia, South Asia, and China.
Currently, My Freighter services 10 airports in China, with its main cargo consisting of e-commerce goods, supported by partnerships with prominent Chinese marketplaces such as Alibaba and Temu.
As part of its growth strategy, My Freighter plans to expand its fleet to 20 cargo aircraft by 2026.
In August, My Freighter, established an interline agreement with American Airlines, improving the connectivity between Central Asia, Europe, and North America.
This collaboration enables My Freighter to leverage American Airlines' extensive network to transport cargo from Europe to major U.S. hubs, including New York (JFK), Philadelphia (PHL), Dallas (DFW), Charlotte (CLT), and Houston (IAH). The agreement also encompasses key European destinations, such as Amsterdam (AMS), London (LHR), Paris (CDG), Madrid (MAD), and Munich (MUC).
