Commercial potatoes accounted for the majority of the exports, generating $42.7mn. Uzbekistan remained the top importer, purchasing commercial potatoes worth $37.4mn. Other buyers included:
- Tajikistan: $4.5mn
- Russia: $0.4mn
Kazakhstan also exported seed potatoes exclusively to Turkmenistan, amounting to $11mn. Additionally, Turkmenistan imported $0.4mn worth of commercial potatoes.
Comparison with 2022/23 Season
In the 2022/23 season, Kazakhstan exported commercial potatoes valued at $27.1mn, with Uzbekistan as the main buyer, importing $24.4mn. Exports of seed potatoes during that season were significantly lower, totaling $1.2mn, with Uzbekistan purchasing $1.1mn of that amount.
