Several agreements were made between Uzbekistan and Germany during Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Germany, particularly in the energy sector, the Ministry of Energy reports.
The Uzbek company "Issiklik Elektr Stansiyalari" and Siemens Energy signed a contract worth €72mn for two projects. These projects involve installing two gas turbines with a total capacity of 108 MW, 54 MW each, in the heat supply boiler house No. 3 of Bukhara City and at the Mubarak IEM enterprise.
The projects are expected to increase the total electricity production capacity of Uzbekistan by 216 MW, which will produce 1.7mn kWh of electricity and 1.5mn Gcal of thermal energy annually.
Additionally, 80 new jobs will be created, and during the project's implementation, a thousand qualified specialists from Uzbekistan will be employed. This project is an extension of the work that has already been done to introduce cogeneration technologies in Uzbekistan.
