Alikhan Smailov, Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, came to Uzbekistan to attend a joint interstate panel conference and spoke with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding the expansion of their strategic alliance and multilateral cooperation, the president's press service reports.
Smailov sent President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's greetings to Mirziyoyev, and they both expressed happiness with the swift enhancement of bilateral ties.
Trade climbed by 18% in 2022 and 12% in 1Q23, with over 3,000 partnership agreements already in existence. They also talked about the contracts achieved during the interstate panel conference, such as the creation of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation.
Both parties highlighted the need to create a foreign trade company as soon as possible to promote commerce and achieve an equilibrium of export-import activities, with a target of $10bn. And also prioritized diversifying their holdings of investment projects in engineering, energy, mining, transportation, logistics, textiles, and food.
