The recent job fair at the 103rd state specialized boarding school for children with special educational needs in Yashnabad district, Tashkent was a success, with over $1,745 earned from the trade fair of products created by disabled children, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education reports.
The fair, which is held annually, aims to provide an opportunity for disabled students to earn an income through their professional skills.
This year's fair was themed "From skillful hands to loving hands," and showcased more than 100 works, including paintings, soft toys, batik, goldsmith and beadwork, and carpentry works. In addition to the exhibition, the fair featured artistic performances and interesting shows with the participation of children.
By the reports, the sale of hand-made products by the students in 2022 earned $1,047 a portion of the funds going to the students themselves. This year's fair generated over $1,745, which will be used to develop the creative abilities of the children in the boarding school.
