Kazakhstan presented Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, with the Order of Dostyk (Order of Friendship), 2nd degree, in recognition of her tireless efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The award was handed over by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during their meeting in Astana, where the two sides discussed current issues of Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation and the development of inter-parliamentary relations.
Welcoming Narbaeva, Tokayev emphasized that her visit reflected the special nature of relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. He praised her personal contribution to promoting friendship and good neighborliness between the two peoples.
“Your visit is very important in terms of strengthening friendly relations between our countries. We pay primary attention to cooperation with fraternal Uzbekistan, as this is a key factor in ensuring stability and security in Central Asia. Inter-parliamentary ties are a vital element of our partnership,” the head of state noted.

For her part, Narbaeva thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“He asked me to pass on his warm wishes and assured that all agreements reached remain under his personal control. The entire team, including Parliament, will work to implement them and achieve concrete results. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are the closest and most reliable partners,” she said.
Talks also covered the expansion of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties.
At the end of the meeting, Tokayev conveyed his warm regards to President Mirziyoyev.
In the first half of 2025, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reached $2.21bn, up from $1.91bn a year earlier and slightly above the $2.20bn recorded in 2023, accounting for 6% of the total.
