President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting addressing professional training and employment for Uzbek citizens, according to the presidential press service.
The meeting emphasized the demand for 200,000 skilled specialists capable of working with modern technologies across various sectors of the economy. Additionally, 500,000 workers will be required for new enterprises set to launch by 2027.
Plans were outlined to expand support for private enterprises collaborating with technical schools to develop dual training programs. Measures will be implemented to create favorable conditions for such companies.
Efforts to increase foreign language training in schools and vocational education centers were discussed. Each region will establish at least five technical schools offering language courses and training in collaboration with foreign specialists.
The government aims to attract grants to equip 65 professional centers under the Ministry of Employment with modern training equipment. Training programs for construction-related professions will be updated, and digitalized recruitment systems will help train up to 20,000 specialists annually.
Citizens who gain skills independently or through apprenticeships will be eligible for international certification. To facilitate this, five centers for assessing professional skills will be established nationwide.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with simplifying visa processes with countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Slovakia, Australia, and New Zealand. These measures aim to support Uzbeks seeking education, skills improvement, and employment in modern industries.
Access to Work & Travel programs will be expanded, allowing participants to visit European countries for study and employment opportunities. The Youth Agency will provide loans to cover flight costs for program participants.
Returning Uzbeks will receive assistance in securing high-income jobs and accessing social support measures to ensure their integration into the local workforce.
