A 20-year-old young man drowned in the Markhamat district of the Andijan region, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office Khaet Shamsutdinov informed Daryo.
The incident reportedly happened on May 5 at about 18:00 on the South Ferghana Canal, which flows through the Gafur Gulyam Mahalla.
The guy jumped into the water to save the girl. People managed to pull her out, and the guy was carried away by the current.
The body of a young man was found three days later near the Polvontosh Mahalla.
Law enforcement officers appointed a forensic medical examination, and a pre-investigation is underway too.
