Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to the riots that erupted in Pakistan following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Hasht-e Subh Daily reports.
The interim government of Afghanistan expressed regret over the events and stated that it has given necessary instructions to its diplomatic missions and consulates in Pakistan to protect Afghans. The neighboring government was advised to choose tolerance as stability is in the interest of the people.
Imran Khan's arrest in Pakistan sparked widespread protests by Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters and led to a deterioration of the political and security situation in the country. To suppress the protests in Islamabad, the government sent an army unit to the city and restricted internet use throughout the country.
