Mikhail Podoliak, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, suggests that if the Crimean peninsula is liberated, it is likely to lose its autonomous status due to the potential for separatist sentiments.
He adds that having autonomy within a unitary state can lead to conflicts at a regional level and foster a sense of superiority among residents of the autonomous region. However, a representative of President Zelenskyi's office acknowledged the importance of respecting the rights of ethnic minorities in Ukraine, such as the Crimean Tatars.
Regarding the issue of Ukrainization, Podoliak believes that creating a high-quality cultural product that is interesting at an international level is necessary.
