Afghan teenager was killed in a shooting incident by Iranian border guards while attempting to cross the Iran-Afghan border illegally, Hasht-e Subh Daily reports.
The incident took place on the night of May 7 in the Nimroz region, which borders Afghanistan and Iran. Reports state that the Iranian border guards fired at a group of Afghan citizens trying to cross the border illegally, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old teenager named Najib, who hailed from the Bodghis region.
Due to issues of poverty, unemployment, and security in Afghanistan, many citizens attempt to migrate illegally to Iran through unapproved routes. This situation has further escalated following the Taliban's assumption of power in Afghanistan.
