In Russia, officials are forbidden from leaving the country without the authorization of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Russian publication The Bell reports.
Starting from April 7, Russian officials are limited to traveling overseas on official business only. Furthermore, lawmakers will need to obtain authorization from the prime minister to go overseas.
However, this prohibition is not applicable to people working in the Kremlin administration.
The journal recalls that the Central Bank of Russia's administration "strongly advised" workers last summer not to go to "unfriendly" nations unless explicitly ordered.
In March, the opposition journal "Novoye Vremya" stated that officials and employees of state-owned enterprises in Russia were being denied foreign passports.
