Around one hundred confidential documents related to the conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and China were recently exposed on the internet, NYT reports.
These files belonged to Pentagon and contained sensitive information about the US and its allies' efforts to help Ukraine prepare for a possible attack on Kyiv, including schedules for arms deliveries and photos of troop and battalion strength.
Mick Mulroy, a former senior Pentagon official, expressed concern that the release of these documents could impede Ukraine's military strategy and suggested that the leak was likely intentional. The disclosure of such classified information not only poses a risk to the United States but also to its allies.
Pentagon is currently investigating the situation, and the White House has been attempting to remove the documents from social media without success. Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the President of Ukraine, has claimed that the published information was fake and that genuine plans will be revealed on the battlefield.
