Kyrgyzstan's foreign and mutual trade turnover amounted to $983.8mn in January 2025, marking a 17.8% decline compared to the same period in 2024, according to Kabar, citing Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee Zainidin Zhumaliev.

As per Zhumaliev, exports totaled $142.2mn, reflecting a 24.7% decrease from January 2024. Imports on the other hand reached $841.6mn, down 16.5% year-on-year. Exports accounted for 14.5% of the total trade volume, while imports dominated at 85.5%.
Trade with Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states constituted 31.1% of Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover. The volume of mutual trade with EAEU countries amounted to $306.1mn, reflecting a 0.8% decrease compared to January 2024.
Russia and Kazakhstan remained Kyrgyzstan’s key trading partners within the EAEU, with shares of 65% and 33.1%, respectively. Exports to EAEU countries made up 35.8%, while imports accounted for 30.7% of total trade with the bloc.
Foreign trade with non-EAEU countries accounted for 68.9% of the total trade turnover. Exports to these countries stood at 64.2%, while imports accounted for 69.7%.
The total volume of trade with third countries amounted to $677.7mn, marking a 23.8% decline compared to January 2024.
In 2024, trade turnover reached $16bn, showing a 0.9% increase from the previous year. Exports grew significantly by 13.1% to $3.8bn, while imports rose by 2.4% to $12bn.
