Over the period 2019-2024, the volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam increased almost 13 times, reflecting the growing economic partnership between the two nations. This growth was announced during a meeting between the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliev, and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi, where the two leaders discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, Kasymaliev emphasized the Kyrgyz Republic's commitment to deepening economic ties with Vietnam, highlighting the need to establish an intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. He also proposed signing three key agreements on investment protection, economic collaboration, and avoidance of double taxation to further boost trade and investment.
"I am convinced that my visit to Vietnam will open a new page in Kyrgyz-Vietnamese relations. Our countries share common approaches to regional security and economic development, and I believe that closer cooperation will provide additional momentum to our partnership," Kasymaliev stated.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed Vietnam’s interest in expanding ties with Kyrgyzstan, describing the country as a valued partner in Central Asia.

"Vietnam highly values its relations with Kyrgyzstan. We are ready to work together to develop cooperation in trade, investment, and other key sectors," he said.
Discussions covered a broad range of topics, including industry, agriculture, energy, education, mining, tourism, and cultural exchange. Both sides also explored opportunities to enhance transport and logistics connectivity. At the conclusion of the talks, Kasymaliev invited the Vietnamese prime minister to visit Kyrgyzstan.
The visit resulted in the signing of several bilateral agreements, including a Joint Statement on cooperation, an education agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on legal cooperation, and an MoU on civil aviation collaboration.
