President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov on December 17 met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan, Saidikram Niyazhodjaev, on the occasion of the presentation of his credentials.
President Japarov congratulated Ambassador Niyazhodjaev and expressed satisfaction with the strong and growing relationship between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. He highlighted the ongoing positive dynamics in bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The Kyrgyz leader emphasized his confidence in the successful implementation of agreements made during his state visit to Uzbekistan in July 2024. One key outcome of that visit was the establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council, a mechanism aimed at fostering a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
In the context of economic ties, Japarov underscored the steady growth in mutual trade, the expansion of product ranges, and strengthened export-import relations. He also stressed the importance of creating joint ventures and initiating large-scale investment projects, particularly in energy and transportation sectors.
Ambassador Niyazhodjaev, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. He noted that President Japarov’s recent visit to Uzbekistan had ushered in a new era of cooperation, strengthening the bonds of friendship, mutual understanding, and good neighborliness between the two countries.
The ambassador also highlighted the ambitious goals set in high-level meetings, including increasing mutual trade turnover to $2bn and jointly implementing investment projects in energy, transport, tourism, and regional cooperation.
