Over the past five years alone, more than UZS 2 trillion ($155.4mn) have been invested in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, leading to the opening of 59 new tourism facilities and adding over 13,000 new hospitality spaces. These investments have turned Bostanlyk into one of the country’s most promising tourism destinations, attracting both local and international visitors.
The district, known for its Charvak reservoir, scenic rivers, snowy mountains, and lush groves, offers a year-round getaway for travelers. Recent developments, including projects like Amirsoy and the Beldirsoy-Chimyon-Nanai resort, have transformed Bostanlyk into a hub for tourism.
The region's growing success has caught the attention of foreign investors, paving the way for larger projects. Azerbaijani businessman Emin Agalarov has announced plans to partner with major international companies to build the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan international tourism center on the banks of the Charvak reservoir.
The Sea Breeze center will include recreational, swimming, and sports facilities, as well as hotels, cottages, and residential areas. It will feature shops of international brands, restaurants, and service outlets, and host a variety of cultural events such as festivals and concerts. A bridge between the two shores of the reservoir will improve visitor access and convenience.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved the project, emphasizing the importance of drawing on international best practices for its design. He instructed that the development proceed in stages and established a commission, headed by the Prime Minister, to ensure the successful implementation of the project. Additionally, the President called for the creation of a legal framework and the resolution of infrastructure issues to support the center’s construction.
Once completed, the Sea Breeze Uzbekistan center is set to become a major tourism hub, offering a unique environment for relaxation and living throughout the year.
