Chinese Xidian University has announced plans to launch an educational program focused on digitalization for Uzbek youth, starting in 2025. This initiative will be implemented in collaboration with the Center for the Development of Digital Education, aiming to equip young professionals with essential skills in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies R. The discussions also revolved around strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in digitalization, education, and innovation, with a view to expanding bilateral relations.
In addition to the educational program, the university shared plans to explore the possibility of establishing a branch in Uzbekistan. Efforts are underway to assess the potential for this venture, while the creation of an IT education center in Uzbekistan was also agreed upon.
Deputy Minister Karimjonov suggested bringing in a qualified specialist from Xidian University to an Uzbek university to help develop digital education programs and introduce advanced Chinese expertise to Uzbekistan.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Xidian University and INHA University in Tashkent, marking the beginning of a closer partnership.
