President Mirziyoyev has previously voiced his support for a peaceful resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. At the Organization of Turkic States summit in Astana in October, he expressed that the “two states for two peoples” principle is the only just solution, advocating for Palestine’s right to establish an independent state in alignment with UN resolutions.
At the November 6 Council of Heads of State meeting, Mirziyoyev reiterated this stance, calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the 1967 borders.
In his remarks, Mirziyoyev condemned the humanitarian crisis impacting civilians in Gaza and Lebanon, decrying the violence against innocent civilians, including children and the elderly, as “indefensible.” He also criticized any actions that hinder the operations of the United Nations Special Assistance Agency for Palestine Refugees, emphasizing the need for humanitarian support and protection for affected populations.
