Israil Madrimov, the Uzbek professional boxer, has ascended to the second position in The Ring Ratings. This ranking update follows his recent bout against Terence Crawford, who currently holds the top position in the rankings.
On August 3, Terence Crawford defeated Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The judges scored the fight 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 in favour of Crawford. This fight was Crawford's first in the welterweight division and followed his victory over Errol Spence Jr. in July 2023, where he became the undisputed welterweight champion.
Israil Madrimov previously claimed the WBA welterweight title by defeating Magomed Kurbanov of Russia with a knockout in the fifth round on March 8, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Madrimov's amateur career includes a silver medal in the welterweight division at the 2014 Asian Games and a gold medal in the middleweight division at the 2018 Asian Games. His professional record includes 10 wins, 1 draw, and no losses.
