President Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed a delegation from Saudi Arabia led by Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud on May 2. Their visit coincided with the third Tashkent International Investment Forum.
Prince Abdulaziz conveyed warm regards from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud to President Mirziyoyev at the outset of the meeting.
The discussions primarily focused on enhancing practical cooperation and advancing priority investment initiatives in Uzbekistan. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of trade, economic, and investment collaboration, which has resulted in a portfolio of joint projects exceeding $30 bn.
Particular attention was given to the fruitful partnership with ACWA Power, a leading investor in Uzbekistan's energy sector development. ACWA Power's significant contributions were acknowledged during the meeting.
Furthermore, agreements worth $18 bn are set to be signed during the forum, covering projects in green energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.
Additionally, there was an emphasis on promoting new ventures in areas such as information and communication technologies, as well as agriculture.
