Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Zhaparov, visited the Jalal-Abad region to review the launch of a waste processing plant and ongoing road reconstruction projects in the city.
During his visit to the Suzak district, Zhaparov inspected the newly launched waste processing plant located in the Kuruk-Sai section of the Jalal-Abad city landfill. Constructed in 2023 with funds from the national budget allocated for Jalal-Abad’s development, the plant represents an investment of KGS 133mn ($ 1,550). The facility will sort and process waste to produce household goods and building materials. Spanning nine hectares, it is equipped to handle up to 20,000 tons of waste annually.
Following the plant tour, Zhaparov examined the reconstruction work on Sh. Abdramanov Street. The project, extending 2.627 kilometers in length and 14 meters in width, involves laying asphalt, installing street lighting, and creating pedestrian walkways. Financed by the national budget, this road upgrade is valued at KGS 152.8mn ($1.7mn) and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Zhaparov also inspected repairs on Z. Zhamashev Street, covering 2.539 kilometers, with a width ranging from 9 to 14 meters. The project, funded by KGS 183.5mn ($2.14mn) from the national budget, is similarly scheduled for completion by year-end.
Highlighting the importance of regional development and job creation, Zhaparov reiterated the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and living conditions across Kyrgyzstan. He instructed relevant state bodies to continue efforts in fostering local growth and enhancing essential services for residents.
