The unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan stands at 4.3%, as reported by Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Jyldyz Polotova during a parliamentary committee meeting on social policy.
Minister Polotova highlighted that the Ministry is prioritizing social contracts aimed at vocational training and employment in public sector projects. This initiative aligns with directives from Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov, who has mandated the creation of 250,000 jobs for civil servants and local officials.
To date, the Ministry has successfully established 38,000 jobs. Polotova noted that the regions of Osh and Jalal-Abad have the highest concentrations of unemployed individuals. Furthermore, the regional department of the Ministry of Labor has facilitated employment for 9,433 citizens.
