The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Japan, Rashid Meredov and Yoko Kamikawa, at a meeting in Tokyo spoke in favor of organizing a meeting of the heads of the two states this year, Turkmen Habarlar Portaly reports.
The diplomats exchanged views on international and regional issues. At the same time, issues of holding the first Summit in the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue were discussed.
Attention was also paid to the development of trade and economic ties. The areas of digitalization and information technology, the environment and climate change were identified as promising areas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports that the issues of opening an office of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in Ashgabat and holding a joint business forum in the first half of this year are being considered.
