Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to increase the number of air flights and deepen cooperation in the aviation sector. The decision was made during the second meeting of the Central Asia-China (C5+1) Working Group on Civil Aviation Cooperation.

According to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport, the agreement aims to improve passenger convenience and boost opportunities for business and tourism.
Under the new arrangements, designated carriers from both countries will be allowed to operate up to 42 flights per week on each of the Almaty–Tashkent and Astana–Tashkent routes. On all other routes, airlines may operate up to seven flights per week.
If airlines take advantage of all agreed routes, the total permitted frequency of flights between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will reach 238 per week.
The two sides also agreed to expand the number of destinations for regular air services.
As part of these developments, new routes have already been launched. On July 3, 2025, Uzbekistan’s My Freighter (Centrum Air) began operating flights between Aktau and Nukus, with two flights per week. On July 15, Kazakhstan’s Fly Arystan launched three weekly flights on the Atyrau–Tashkent route.
