An international forum on attracting foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan will be held on 24-25 April in Paris, France. This is reported by the organisers of the event: the state corporations "Turkmengaz", "Turkmennebit" and "Turkmengeologiay".
The deadline for applications is 10 April.
The press release says that the Paris Forum will be devoted to further attraction of investments in the development of Turkmen offshore fields, special attention will be paid to blocks 21 and 23.
Investment opportunities for modernisation of oil refineries will be presented. One of the sessions will consider the second stage of construction of Arkadag - the first smart city in the country. The project includes facilities for production of medical and other products from local raw materials.
Turkmengaz experts will present the latest data on the development of the Galkynysh gas field, one of the largest in the world.
One of the sessions will present information on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project and the design of an underground gas storage facility in the country.
The State Concern "Turkmenkhimiya" will present new investment projects in the field of utilisation and use of chemical gases.
Turkmenistan has the world's fourth largest proven natural gas reserves after Russia, Iran and Qatar. China is the largest buyer of Turkmen natural gas, which is also purchased by Russia and Uzbekistan.
