Tajikistan's Victory Monument relocates for new flyover construction
The dismantling of the Victory Monument in Dushanbe has commenced, with plans to relocate the monument to the city's Victory Park. Workers involved in the dismantling process shared that a two-route flyover will replace Victory Square, Asia-Plus reported on January 23.
An official from the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Tajikistan government indicated that the decision to build three additional flyovers in Dushanbe was part of an urban development plan. In addition to the Victory Square location, flyovers are planned for the crossroads of Hofiz Sherozi Avenue and Qahhorov Street and the intersection of Saadi Sherozi and Sino Street (Profsoyuz circle).
The Dushanbe Administration, as part of its municipal redevelopment plan, envisions the construction of approximately 20 flyovers in the city by 2030. These projects are anticipated in various areas, including the Circus, the turn to the meat-packing plant, the turn to the airport, the creamery area, the U.S. Embassy area, the 102nd roundabout, the cement plant area, the Korvon bazaar area, and near the Dushanbe Western Gate. Funding for these projects will come from the Dushanbe Administration and private investments.
